NEW PODCAST "BOSTON PODCAST PLAYERS" TO HIGHLIGHT NEW PLAYS WRITTEN BY BOSTON AREA PLAYWRIGHTS

BOSTON, MA - A new podcast Boston Podcast Players has announced it will debut on July 3, 2017, hosted by Boston area playwrights Greg Lam and Mara Elissa Palma.

The Podcast will highlight new work by Boston area playwrights, featuring interviews with eight different playwrights in its first season as well as 10-20 minute excerpts from full length plays. The episodes will be released monthly, on the first Monday of each month.

The Boston area playwrights to be featured in the first season are Mimi Augustin, Mary McCullough, Greg Lam, Mara Elissa Palma, Ken Green, Jecenia Isis Figueroa, Rosa Nagle, and Colleen M. Hughes. These playwrights met in 2016 at the Company One Theatre's PlayLab Program, where they comprised the PlayLab Unit for that year.

These eight playwrights represent a diverse cross section of playwriting styles, ethnicities, experience, and points of view that will be explored during the first season. 29 local actors and directors have been recruited so far to bring these roles and plays to life.  After the eight episode first season, the producers will consider producing additional episodes based on the reception of the first season.

The podcast is available for free subscription on iTunes and other popular podcast platforms. A trailer for season 1 is available now at https://www.bostonpodcastplayers.com/home/2017/6/14/season-1-trailer
