Mary McCullough: Meet the Playwright

In anticipation of our second full episode on Monday, August 7, let's get to know the playwright of Ballahoo in the Hair Kitchen, Mary McCullough.

Mary M. McCullough is co-founder of The Streetfeet Women, a diverse women's writing and performing company.  

Plays by McCullough have been staged in Boston's African American Theater Festivals, Slam-Boston, ACTRoxbury Dramatic Shout-outs, the former Theater Cooperative of Somerville, MA and have been toured by The Streetfeet Women.  

McCullough was a 2016 participant in Company One of Boston's PlayLab and is developing new work with TC Squared Theatre of Cambridge, MA. An excerpt of her full length play, A FINE AND DANGEROUS COUNTRY, was featured in TC Squared's 2017 showcase of new works.

McCullough's fiction, poetry, and monologues have been published in several literary journals and Streetfeet Women's publications. She received her undergraduate degree in theater arts from Goddard College, Plainfield, VT and a Master of Arts in writing from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.

Mary M. McCullough lives in Somerville, MA with her husband and his cat.
